India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.

Very good food, but no need for the prices to be so much higher than their sister restaurants on the East Side and Pawtucket.

It's been a very busy month for me, but I did manage to get over to this little gem-- and boy I wasn't disappointed at all. I absolutely LOVE Rasa. Upon entering this little oasis you are greeted by your typical host, and a bowl of fennel seeds mixed with candy. A strong reminder that you've just entered a palace of assorted spices. The staff was so friendly and pleasant it really felt like we just arrived on our own little spice island. We were treated like kings and queens, and presented plates of food with a complex variety of spices, all of which none were an insult to our pallets. From the chai tea to the lentil cakes served with dipping sauces, everything was amazing. So amazing, I just want to go back and eat there every day for the rest of my life. I think if I were to request a last meal, it would be from Rasa.

I have been to Rasoi up in Providence with friends (and that was amazing too) and then learned there was a sister restaurant in East Greenwich. I husband and I went to Rasa for my birthday and we were both very happy with our experience there. The waitstaff were great and they were very attentive and pleasant. The food was so insanely good. My husband has never had Indian food before and he is a convert now. We will be back! Our usual haunt is a sushi place....but Rasa has become our new favorite restaurant!

Rasa is a welcome addition to the restaurant options in our area. We've been a couple times now for dinner and I am very impressed with the place. The restaurant is not very large, but they've done an excellent job creating a comfortable and unusual setting. Bold oranges and blues are the main colors in the very modern interior. It works well with the boldness of the flavors that come from the kitchen. Service is very good, and both times our waiters (different each time) were helpful with questions about the menu and very pleasant. The owner introduced himself and asked how things were, which is something good to see. Appetizers are large and a couple of them are more than enough for 2. They bring you complimentary papadum crackers and mint and tamarind chutneys. Last time we had Dum Biryani Chicken and spinach and paneer croquettes. Both were outstanding - the Biryani was loaded with tender white meat chicken, in a crock of seasoned rice. The croquettes were even better though! I couldn't get enough of them. Crispy outside with spinach and paneer inside, delicious. They have a decent selection of beer, a number of unique cocktails and wines. I plan on going here regularly.

My favorite Indian restaurant in Rhode Island!! I love to dine in here! Everything from the menu is made to perfection here. The right amount of spices and freshness of ingredients make it special. The service is exceptionally great. It's pretty new so the restaurant is clean and nice. The bar has a good selection of drinks. You can also join the "rasa club" to receive offers and discount coupons. The only thing I feel that they can improve on is their song selection. Instead of playing cheesy Bollywood songs, they can play some good lounge music. It would go with the interior and make it much classy experience. :)

We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Interior design a seamless marriage of both traditional and modern. I even noticed the linens: white and cobalt blue. Though our waiter suggested the cauliflower app and forgot to put it in, all was forgiven when our dinners arrived quickly: mixed grill and chicken korma. My husband, who doesn't particularly like lamb, LOVED the lamb chops that were part of the mixed grill. My chicken korma was divine; plentiful and rich, and infused with the heady taste and scent of cashews. Coconut and date naan was very good. Despite the hiccup with the app and white rice that should have been brown (not me, my husband) this was the best Indian food we've had in RI, and overall a lovely dining experience. We will most certainly return.
(5)Jasmine S.
Always delicious. Staff is amazing. Friendly and helpful. There are a fair number of Indian options in Rhode Island, but these guys are hands down the best in my opinion.
(5)TF B.
A fantastic dining experience. Great food, attentive service, reasonably priced. We've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. A local gem in East Greenwich!
(5)Edward O.
Great food and service. The spice combinations are excellent. I eat a Rasa at least twice a month and I have yet to have a bad meal there.
(5)Joshua J.
It's the best Indian in town, though admittedly, its the only Indian in town. Veg curries were really good, chicken tikka masala was ok, and the lamb was flavourful and very tender. Rice was cooked as expected, as was the naan. Amazing to have some non-Italian in the area so no matter what this is a 4 star review.
(4)Bilal R.
Decent indian food, nice decor and service. Can do better if they cut back a little on the amount of spices they use to flavour dishes.
(4)Tina M.
Not only is the food addictive, the staff and ambiance is one of a kind. I've been here several times and the manager is my go to for which dish to try. I can be a creature of habit, and he definitely got me out of my comfort zone. I have tried almost every vegetarian and chicken dish on the menu. I am partial to Chana Masala....deliciousness!To get started, I definitely recommend Samosas and Cauliflower 65 is a must have! And don't forget the date and coconut Naan....best combination! For the summer, they have added outdoor seating to give you a great people watching experience on Main Street.
(5)Dina T.
One of my favorite spots. The food, service and drinks are always a wonderful experience.
(5)Linda B.
We are always greeted at the door with a smile. Beautiful atmosphere, the food is delicious, and the service is top notch. I would highly recommend the Califlower 65, Tandoori Chicken, and the garlic and cilantro nan! Definitely a neighborhood gem! Excellent for lunch or dinner.
(5)Brandi Q.
I love this place. They have gluten free and dairy free options. Excellent service. Interesting drinks. Great place to have a casual dinner.
(5)Feri Y.
1- The interior is great. 2- I recommend trying monthly specials. 3- The service was great (Thank you Nathan!). We will go back!
(4)Kristina A.
To start, the service at Rasa is incredible. Attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff. Then there's the food. I try to order something different every time I visit, and I have never been disappointed. They also offer a good selection of wine and cocktails, and the prices are great. Highly recommend!
(5)Harold S.
Friendly staff. Great decor. And, food_ the best Indian we have had. Took out of town guests shared apps drinks. Than 2 duck and 2 lamb chop dinners and desert
(5)Stephany H.
Great food but for a bigger selection and more reasonable prices head to his other restaurant Rasoi in Pawtucket. Nice addition to the downtown EG scene though.
(3)Michael M.
My girlfriend and I are recent converts to Indian food. We decided to try Rasa as we love their sister shop, Kebob & Curry on Thayer St in Providence. The first thing we noticed, this place was far more chic. India's version of MTV2 played overhead and set a far more modern, Bollywood tone than the traditional vibe of Kebob. We ordered two entrees and two orders of naan, our usual at any Indian restaurant. Our waiter was polite and prompt and our order arrived in a timely manner. The food was excellent and more or less, the same recipe from the other restaurant. I do have to point out that for the remainder of our meal, we were served by what seemed to be the bartender as our original waiter ate at a table towards the back of the dining room. We are both professional cooks so we understand that employees have to eat too, but not within the line of sight of the table you were supposed to be waiting on! However the service continued to be prompt and polite so we'll only take away a half star. We boxed out leftovers and paid our bill and that's where we take the other half star. It was, in Main St, East Greenwich fashion, about $20 more for the same food than it's Thayer St counterpart. Another great thing I could say is, after hearing we were cooks and fans of Kebob, the manager came to our table and had a great conversation with us about the food and differences between the two operations in terms of vibe and recipe. Final verdict: we will certainly go back for the food despite the price, but for the real authentic feel at about $10 a head less, we still prefer Kebob & Curry when we're Cityside!
(4)Pamela R.
We love the food service and everything about Rasa. Try something new every time! I don't like cauliflower but love cauliflower 65!! Will be back!
(5)Amber C.
AMAZING! My fiance and I enjoyed the best meals we have had in well we cannot even recall. I had a green curry veggie dish and he had a tomato/onion curry. The chicken was the most tender and juicy I have ever tasted. The cilantro/garlic naan was mouthwatering. Everything is always so fresh and flavorful. Service is top notch. Management is so passionate and always comes out to talk to you about your dish and make sure you are more than satisfied. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant in Rhode Island!
(5)Katie W.
I go to Rasa often, and it is always a fantastic experience! The food is excellent and the staff is very attentive and friendly. The pesto nan is especially delicious!
(5)B W.
I Love this restaurant. Food is great. Service is great. Drinks are great. Dining room could be bigger but its beautiful and surprisingly subdued. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Dining al fresco in the spring/summer/fall is fun too.
(5)Marie S.
Just stopped in to Rasa, a new Indian restaurant in town. Rasa is the sister restaurant of Providence's Kabab and Curry. Rasa has only been open a month, so the menu is more limited than K&C, but the items we ordered (biryani and tikka masala) were delicious and the service was speedy and attentive. Lunch prices are 50% of dinner prices. Of course, lots of vegetarian choices, and almost everything is gluten free. Yum! We'll be back!
(4)Jonathan S.
Brilliant service, authentic and delicious food well worth a visit. The owner/manager is very courteous and helpful. The decor is pleasing, good selection of wines, beers and spirits.
(5)Courtney T.
Excellent!! Try the cauliflower dish! And get a Taj Mahal beer :) Naan bread is great
(4)Carra C.
I had never had Indian food before going to Rasa and I was not disappointed! Been twice now and both times our meals were delicious and the staff was more than accommodating. Brought my very unadventurous parents the second time and they were very happy with their meals and have agreed to go back again! Everyone is super nice and very passionate about the food and wanting everyone to like it and be just as excited about it...and they succeed!
(5)Kyra L.
Ordered take out from Rasa and was impressed. Had the vegetable mango and spinach scramble were amazing, not too impressed with roasted eggplant though. Slightly pricey for Indian food but had a big order and everything was accurate! Will definitely go here again!
(4)Ashley B.
Absolutely love Rasa! The staff is great, food is delicious, and drinks are really good too. We frequent this establishment and each time we are not disappointed. My boyfriend has spent time in India and says that Rasa is as good as it gets.
(5)Kavya V.
Lovely Indian restaurant..! Good ambience... Tasty food.. Very polite staff.. Enjoyed every item we ordered... Shahi paneer, tadka Dal, garlic nan, butter nan, biryani, paneer tikka as starter... Yummmmmmmm
(4)Azure G.
I love this place. If I could afford to eat here multiple days each and every week, I definitely would, but alas I am a poor recent college graduate. Santosh is wonderful and personable and I always feel special when I walk through the doors. Chicken Tikka Masala is a staple of mine, but I have been working my way through the menu and have not been disappointed yet!
(5)Prayank T.
Thr best indian food in providence area. Ambience and services are amazing. I would recommend fried okra with hard drinks.
(5)Scott S.
Stopped in for a quick meal with two younger sisters who had never tried Indian, and it was a huge hit! Reasonably priced and good size portions for lunch specials.
(4)Michael L.
An excellent addition to Main Street in East Greenwich. We've been twice and both times have been excellent , the service is attentive and the food is fresh and flavorful. Try the honey & ginger naan with a spicy dish, sweet and savory, delicious!! I'm editing my review to 5-stars!!! We've been several times now and it has always been a very positive experience. Santosh is a very friendly, attentive host who checks on all the tables personally, a nice touch. We look forward to going back!!!
(5)Julianne S.
Rasa is my favorite local spot since moving to NK. My partner and I come often and we are never disappointed in the food (as wonderful as everyone says) or service (exceptionally gracious). The atmosphere is great for a dinner-for-two (cozy seating, low light and sleek decor, although it can get noisy). In the summer, we love to get the vegan Thali for weekend brunch and eat it street-side with a pitcher of Sangria. In the winter, I crave Indian food with animal ferocity; Rasa puts new items on their standard menu frequently and offers a special menu each month. You can easily exhaust your vegetarian options at many veg-friendly places, but I have yet to do so here (although it won't prevent me from trying!)
(5)Gary H.
My favorite Indian restaurant in the world. Not your usual menu for an Indian place. Everything is done a little differently from most Indian restaurants that I have frequented over the years. Almost anything on the menu is a good bet so I won't go into what I have eaten...it is literally all good. Update - I had a mussel dish there a few weeks ago. The sauce was so wonderful I asked them if I could take the remaining part home to try on different things. Bottom line...the sauce is best on the mussels. I am going there for my birthday today and have been dreaming about the mussels for the last several days.
(5)Bharathy S.
Perfect taste and great service. Potion-of-immortality is the bomb and its just 5 bucks!!!!
(5)Ryan K.
Excellent food.
(2)Derek O.
Home for a short vacation, and looking for a quality lunch to have with my family on short notice, as the pizza joint we intended to patron opened later than expected. A quick Yelp review showed Rasa as a viable option in the area; what luck to stumble across this gem! The prices are reasonable (excellent lunch specials), service fast and friendly, the food fresh and tasty. Me and my family shared; Date&Coconut Naan Mango Veg Curry Chicken&Lamb Thali Lamb&Spinach I've grown up on Indian food, and Rasa did not disappoint my discerning taste buds.
(5)Marie M.
Best Chicken Tandoori I've ever tried! Not hot at all but savory. Probably the same recipe used for Rasoi's (restaurant in Pawtucket) Sunday buffet. Price for the CT is justified by the hearty portion of 4 large pieces, enough to share. My 7 yo daughter, who cannot handle spicy foods, loves the cheese paneer dish with naan. The hubby loves the Madras Fish Curry. We have yet to try the other dishes, though our cravings force us to stick with our favorites. Nice decor. Quaint, but usually not crowded. Take out available. Friendly service. Free street parking. Hip location in downtown EG. Newly opened. Ironically too late as we're moving north and there has not been a single Indian restaurant in EG since we've moved in 6 years ago and Indian food is one of my favorites. I hope the EG residents will appreciate the food as much as I do!
(5)Nadeem P.
Nice location and probably good restaurant for a group and take out. Worth for an lunch . dinner is pricy
(3)Mas B.
This is one of EG's gems. The service and food are consistently great. We probably eat here 4-5 times a month and never disappoints. The cauliflower appetizer is a must to order.
(5)Trinity L.
I was recently in East Greenwich visiting family, and had the opportunity to try Rasa. When my mother told me we'd be getting Indian, I was beyond excited. Not only do I really enjoy the food, but more importantly that meant a restaurant that was neither Italian nor bar food had opened in the area! Thankfully, the dining experience lived up to my expectations. We went around 6 o'clock on a Saturday night, and thankfully had a reservation. Because the place is quite small, it would probably be a good idea to call ahead and make your own reservations if you plan to eat here during peak dinning hours on the weekend. We started with the basic Naan, and it came out quickly and seemed fresh from the tandoor (we ended up getting a second serving to enjoy with our entrees). For entrees, we got the lamb and spinach, the chana masala, and the tandoori lamb. All the entrees were delicious, and the servings were plentiful (we had enough to box up afterwards to bring home). Beyond the food, the service was great (which is always a plus to the dinning experience). I definitely intend to come back to Rasa and sample more of their menu!
(5)Christian H.
Amazing, amazing, amazing! Ate here three times the first week I moved to the EG area. Don't miss it.
(5)Kevin M.
Been there 2 times for dinner and 3 times for lunch. Solid addition to main street, EG. I stick with the basics (Curry / Tikka Masala), which are reliable. The naan is fantastic. Ive had some cocktails there which were hit or miss. Also, the staff has been a toss up - the owners/management seem eager to please but some of the wait staff seem stuck in first gear. Excited to see how this restaurant progresses.
(4)Alex H.
This is gonna be the best Indian food you find in the area. You can tell they use the freshest ingredients. I tried the Naan, Cauliflower appetizer, and the Honey Ginger Duck in Orange Curry and the duck was cooked perfectly. The app was amazing too, you'd never know it was cauliflower! The interior is nice & modern, great date spot or for an outing with the family. At the end of our meal, the owner came by the table to ask how everything was, which was a nice touch.
(5)Kate M.
I had heard it was good so we had my birthday dinner there. It was EXCELLENT. Very good Indian foods and many appetizers that I had not heard of or tried before. The cauliflower appetizer has me dreaming about it. Big portions on great plates. The atmosphere was fun and sort of city modern with some nice Indian decor as well. The owner was a peach! He came by to see how things were going and also to wish me a happy birthday. The waitstaff was excellent too and I am so glad we have great Indian food closer to this part of the state!
(5)Jennifer M.
This small little gem in EG has become one of my favorites!! I tried my first indian dish here and I love everything I've ever had here. The manager is the epitome of professional and the atmosphere is fun and energetic.
(5)Daniel L.
Filling a niche/need in East Greenwich. . . I moved to EG about 10 years ago, and at that point there were a couple of Indian restaurants in town, but they weren't there much longer after I moved in. There are plenty of Chinese and Italian places, but I definitely missed being able to get some biryani and nan every so often. So we were pleased to see this place open up recently and were excited to try it out. We've been a couple of times in the past month or so and each time the food has been delicious and the service very good. The first time we went, we had the samosas for an appetizer, and the spinach croquettes and a lamb dish for entrees. This past weekend we had the onion bhaji appetizer (chickpea fritter), and the chicken biryani and spinach croquettes (again) for entrees. Both times we had an order of nan as well. My wife describes the food as comfort food and I have to agree - warm, filling, delicious, and probably fairly healthy, these dishes all hit the spot on chilly fall/winter days. The space is modern and warm as well. It doesn't look like they changed the layout too much from the short-lived Centro martini bar, and while the space isn't large, they maximize its usage. Both times we went, we were there fairly early in the evening and there was good traffic in and out, but there didn't seem to be any wait. Then again, we were there between 5 and 6 pm, so I'm assuming it picks up and can get crowded. The first time we went, the owner/manager guy greeted us near the end of the meal and comped us a dessert, which was a nice touch. The same gentleman also greeted us as we were leaving during our last visit and was gracious then as well, thanking us for our visit and hoping we would return. Indeed we will!
(4)Mohammad Maruf H.
Me and my family come here for vacation . Then we went to rasa Indian restaurant for launch . We had a very bad experience in here . We expected Indian food would be spicy but after coming here first time I got a weird taste of food .Their food quality is poor .We felt very disappointed though only thing is ok is their beriyani . Their service is no good . Their waiters are very unconcern about their to customers . They even forgot to give us our rice plate and refill our water glasses . The worst thing is their food cost is more expensive then New York City Indian restaurants !!!
(2)Chris J.
This restaurant is truly a pleasure to visit. The food is always out of this world & the wait staff is so attentive. The prices & portions are also impressive.
(5)Marshall M.
My wife and I love this place. In my opinion it is by far the best Indian food in the state. Get the cauliflower 65, my brother in law hates cauliflower but we ended up fighting over the last piece. Also the service is always friendly.
(5)Gregg S.
Had to upgrade to 5 stars... Great service from waitstaff... And the takeout is still perfect!
(5)Meagan J.
Just perfect! Always weary to bring our 2 year old to any restaurant... but the staff could not have been more pleasant and welcoming to our little hand full! The food was out of this world as well!
(5)Puja M.
We are lacto- vegetarian and had a horrible experience in this restaurant. Before placing the order I spoke to the manager Mr. Santosh explaining that They should take good care to make sure there is no cross contamination. He assured us that the staff is well aware of such matters and he will personally give these instructions. Half way through our meal, we found out there was a piece of meat in potato and cauliflower vegetable..... How very disgusting!!! Mr. Santosh showed the kitchen trying to explain how such a thing could have happened. The way things were arranged, meats, veggies, sauces all side by side; cross contamination can happen very easily. Santosh said, "a piece of meat could have fallen in one of the sauces and the chef BY MISTAKE put a spoonful of that sauce in our vegetable." All this after his assuring us he will personally take care as he completely understands show we feel about non-vegetarian food. Humans make mistakes but this is not acceptable. They didn't charge us for our meal but Mr. Santosh's attitude was not truly apologetic. He blamed everything on the chef. Being the manager, isn't it his responsibility to take steps to ensure such a thing doesn't happen in the first place???? Never going back there.....
(1)Peggy O.
Our new favorite restaurant! Our severs Ali & Nathan were very informative about explaining the dishes as we were new to Indian cuisine The chicken tiki Marsala was excellent! As was the service!
(5)Brendan M.
Terrific Indian restaurant with impeccable service and great food and interesting cocktails. Great ambience. Great new EG restaurant. Working my way down the menu!
(5)Wendy O.
Loved it! My husband and I had a great experience here. Went for apps and drinks and thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers, especially their cauliflower appetizer as well as their avocado appetizer. Ooo and the naan! Don't forget to sample a few of their flavored naans. Worth a visit!
(4)Megan H.
The food, atmosphere and service are excellent. We have been a few times now and they always make us feel like special guests. The cauliflower app is my my favorite!
(5)Kristen S.
Great food with an amazingly welcoming and attentive staff! Try the cauliflower 65 its my favorite. If you're like me and don't eat rice, they will make the chicken tandoori over a big salad...so good!
(5)Frank T.
My family and I tried Rasa in EG even on New Years Eve where most restaurants turn you and burn you . This place was very relaxing nicely appointed with soft blue highlights. IMO the food was exceptional. Having Indian food at school all the time this was excellent. the Green Curry shrimp was nicely scented with green curry and coconut milk. It was smooth but with a Pop.My wife had the Tandoori Lamb which was excellent my daughter had the Saag Paneer and her husband had the Chicken Korma. Both were excellent. When we entered we were met by a gentleman Santosh and a young lady, both were extremely pleasent. It seems like Sanjiv hit a home run with this place.
(5)Lee G.
Rasa is the latest creation of master chef and restauranteur, Sanjiv Dhar. I have eaten at one of Sanjiv's 3 restaurants once, or twice a week for the last 15 years. Rasa offers not just good Indian food, this is celestial Indian food. After decades of cooking and running restaurants, Sanjiv and his well trained chefs are outstanding in their consistency of excellence. Every meal is a masterpiece. That is really hard to do. He has done this over decades. He is a quiet humble genius. What I found interesting at Rasa was that Sanjiv uses mostly English names on his dishes for his American audience who may not be so Indian hip. The menu is easy to understand: "Cauliflower and potatoes"" Lentils and zucchini." This makes it very easy for the first timer. In most Indian restaurants, the first timer is totally turned off by all the strange words they dont understand, and then the waiter has to explain for ten minutes. In exasperation, the newbie opts for chicken tikka masala as if it is the only dish that Indian restaurants can cook (which by the way is excellent at Rasa.) Rasa is the kind of restaurant you can go to over and over and over again and continually find new exciting taste sensations. Gracious service and upscale Indian dining with a understanding of American tastes and sensibilities. I notice some of the Indian reviewers below are disappointed that the dishes are not super hot spicy. Well.....Just ask! The cooks are happy to make it the way you want. Sanjiv has learned over decades of feeding Americans to make dishes rich and satisfying without extreme heat. It is more difficult to cook Indian without extreme heat. If you like it hot, like I do, ask! I have eaten every dish on all his menus. My favorites this week are Goat Vindaloo and Channa Saag, oops sorry.... chickpeas and spinach......
(5)Shannon N.
Great authentic food. Heaps of vegetarian options as well. After living in Dubai where there happens to be a lot of Indian food available, I thought this was a very good representation of well-made Indian food with a modern ambiance, great service and also interesting cocktails (such as the tamarind margarita).
(5)Lilly E.
Excellent! Always great food and service. The owner always comes up to put table and says hello
(5)Meghan L.
Accommodated our party of six without an issue! The food and drinks were amazing and came out fast and hot!! An unbelievable introduction to Indian food!
(5)Ricky Y.
Nothing on this menu is a bad choice. It's Indian food, so you should probably like Indian food if you are going to try it. But seriously, try everything you can. And definitely get the cauliflower 65, you won't regret it. It is a simple, comfortable atmosphere with great food and friendly service. Just go here.
(5)D C.
You get what you pay for...tiny place...call ahead for reservations on Friday/Saturday nights, but the food tastes awesome! We started with potatoes, chickpeas, mint, and tamarind sauce which was excellent. Then shared chicken marsala and another chicken dish with basmati rice and regular nan bread. The flavors were terrific. Ended the meal with their rice pudding with golden raisins and almonds and chai tea. Great meal!
(5)Jared E.
This place has only been open a month or so, but is under the same ownership as a couple of the better known Indian restaurants up in Providence. My wife and I were very excited to see this place was coming, and we were not disappointed once we got the chance to check it out. It provides a great alternative to the predominately grill/Italian theme restaurants in the area, and we had an awesome time when we visited. We went for lunch on a Sunday with our two kids. I got the chicken korma (stellar) and my wife got the lamb tikka and loved it. They don't have a dedicated kids menu, but we were able to find things on the appetizer menu (naan, dosai) for the kids. Everything we ordered was excellent. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere had a modern Indian feel. We will definitely be back. If your hesitant because you haven't had Indian food before, or maybe had a bad experience, you should still give this place a shot. The food has great flavor but isn't super hot, and this is a nice clean, friendly place to try something new.

Great indian food returns to E.Greenwich! I've eaten at Rasa once before in their first two months of operation and enjoyed my lunch very much. This time around, we visited with friends that were treated like royalty since it's their go-to, default eatery and the staff practically genuflect upon their entrance, LOL! I like the space and first 'box' checked: booths. Second box checked: ambiance & style Third box: killer food done 'right'! A bonus box: They keep the tunes low so you can have a conversation! None of this means anything to you but to me, in no particular hierarchy, all of these factors [having read my other reviews *blush* as you already know] play a vital part in my restaurant 'dramas'. The staff was a pleasant, skilled, courteous and worldly mix of smiling faces via Tibet, Cambodia, Ecuador, and just up the road, whaddya know?! In posh English accent: There's something about the value of hard work that foreigners working in America particularly excel at [he chortles while holding his huge belly, monocle bouncing off his mustache into his consumé!] KIDDING, KIDDING! Before the 'PC Police' get me. I think everyone understands that their efforts are rewarded here at Rasa if they pay attention to the details and bring their 'A-game' to the table. It's a short leap to continued success for Sanjiv Dhar (proprietor) and Rasa, being one out of his three stellar restaurants in RI-go get'em Sanjiv! There's no comparison when it comes to Indian south of RI's Mason-Dixon line...umm, where is that exactly? Rasa 'kills it' with high quality, performance, and valet parking if you need it combating the uber-busy Main Street parking scene. I'm tired of writing...GO! Eat! Support a business with 'global perspective'! I rated four stars mainly based on size and a somewhat dominant bar. If they ever expand the space and add more booths/intimate seating, they'll get the fifth. ;)

Been to a lot of Indian restaurants in RI. Rasa is by far my favorite place so far. Fast service, great wait staff, quick service, and excellent food. What more can one ask for! It is my go to place for Indian food. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Having spent a considerable time in the UK where Indian restaurants are often considered then national cuisine, I found Rasa a wonderful treat. Sitting at the bar the tender suggested the Califlower 65, a wonderful app. We are fans of chicken vindaloo, while not on the menu they were more than happy to offer it. The flavor was delicious. By the way the service was very good a rarity in EG
(5)Caty S.
Really great addition to EG. The food does not disappoint; flavorful dishes, buttery soft naan. The Cauliflower 65 appetizer was a pleasant surprise; crunchy pieces of fried cauliflower coated in a General Tso's-like sauce. The only thing I have to complain about is the price-it's more expensive than their other restaurants, Rasoi and Kabob & Curry even though the menus are very similar.
(4)Mr. Cee Z.
Had the tandoori chicken as well as the lentil soup both were very good. Especially the lentil soup- very well seasoned. The service was prompt and friendly. The portions were filling. Nice bar area with some nice bottles- will try a mixed beverage next time.

Outstanding flavors! Wife was hesitant to come as she wasn't sure she liked Indian food, she didn't like it, she loved it, as did I!
(5)Victoria m.
This place is LOVE! Of course, I didn't expect anything less since this is part of the Kabob and Curry and Rasoi restaurant groups. We went in for an early dinner and within 10 minutes, the place was full except for a few seats at the bar. The service was great, very attentive and the food was fantastic. The best part was that we were not rushed out after dinner. Highly recommended to everyone (even if you haven't eaten Indian). Enjoy!
(5)Yvette M.
My husband and I were visiting EG for the day and were hungry. Walking along the main drag there were numerous places for lunch. We chose Rasa because of the myriad gluten free options highlighted on the menu. Both our meals were delicious and our waiter was friendly and responsive,

My husband and I dined at Rasa Indian Restaurant in E. Greenwich, RI for the first time today, and we absolutely loved it!! The food was unbelievably delicious, the service was top notch, and the staff was very friendly. We cannot wait to go back!! We don't even miss Centro Martini, which this restaurant replaced. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
(5)Edith M.
Such an amazing experience!!! The meal from beginning to end was simply amazing. Loving it!! Must visit for sure!!

My wife and I were ecstatic to try this new Indian restaurant; we're both fans of Indian, including Rasoi and Kabob & Curry, so this looked like a winner. There are not nearly enough Indian restaurants in RI! The upsides: dazzling decor, fun location on the main drag in East Greenwich, immaculately prepared food, good drinks (I'm a sucker for the tamarind margarita), and Indian TV playing on the bar tele (always entertaining). The downsides: the decor is a little *too* modern, and not quite as warm and relaxed as I'd prefer. The service was generally good, though not exceptional; the biggest complaint was having to ask for a dish that seemed to have been forgotten, and then having it come a little too late. Some tables have uncomfortable-looking stool-chairs with no backs, that we didn't want to even try to sit in (my guess is that they use these to save space; it's a little tight in there). Also, the prices seemed about 20% too steep for the experience. In the end, I ate way too much because the food was so damn good (Hyderabadi chicken korma and roasted eggplant dishes). Despite the great food, we both felt like we didn't have a strong urge to return; it just didn't suit our aesthetic tastes. We like the scrappier feel of Kabob and Curry, or Rasoi if we want to get a little fancier. Rasa just seemed a little bit too much over the top, like you're paying extra just to get all the fancy yet unnecessary decor, with great food, but not *special* food. If anyone is thinking of trying some new Indian, I would very highly recommend giving Rasa a chance; I suspect it'll get better and better over time. Now if only these folks would open an Indian restaurant near our house, I would be so very happy...
(4)Heather G.
Delicious and Vegan friendly! Excellent service and generous portion size. Can't wait to go again!
(5)Anantha K.
Good Ambiance. We tried the lunch Cauliflower 65, Biriyani and Thali (Plate meal). The quantity was just adequate. Food was tasty however it was not "hot and spicy" on Indian standards.
(2)Scott S.
Delicious Indian. Food was excellent, generous portions, friendly/helpful servers and fun modern Indian ambiance. We enjoyed every dish, highlights were Cauliflower 65 appetizer and okra main. Poori and paratha also good. Only disappointment was the tamarind margarita that was a bit too sweet and not strong enough. We really enjoyed it - hope you do too.

My new favorite restaurant...best vegetarian dish: Spinach and Paneer Croquettes! JAI, Ct
(5)Beverly S.
Almost two years later, Rasa still gets all of my five stars and if Yelp allowed me to give six i would!! Their lamb dishes are so flavorful and succulent, I almost always order one of them. (The spinach and lamb dish is off the chain!!). Whenever I say I don't like too much heat, they always turn down the heat for whatever dish I order. The service is beyond compare. Rasa is packed every time we go there, so I encourage you to make a reservation. It really doesn't get any better than this - RASA! Yay!! BIG PS: Santosh, who is the manager nearly always on duty when we go to Rasa, is the warmest, nicest, friendliest man to ever run a restaurant! 6 stars for Santosh!!

Lisa and I stopped in here for a bite to eat last week. It was a weekday and early for dinner ( between 4 and 5 pm ) . The place was not busy, but was very welcoming. We had no issue parking right across the street On the street, although we did notice they had valet. Since it was a super cold day, we decided to start with a couple soups and an order of Naan. I had a mushroom soup which was superb, and lisa had a lentil soup, which was very good, a bit on the spicy side for my tastes, but that only hit the tongue on the first few spoonfuls and it got used to the heat after that. the Naan was very good as well. I might mention too that there were sesame chips with a couple of sauces/salsas brought out like a basket of bread to start munching on, also good, and very light. For entress , Lisa ordered the Tandoori chicken, which was very tender and great on the palate .. I ordered a crepe of sorts with a potato filling ( Named 'Dosa' ) . We left satisfied and everything hit the spot while travelling through East Greenwich. I leave 5 stars for this place, the food was great, service was impeccable, our water glasses never empty ( and with some of the spicy things, we were drinking them heavily ) . And the Bathroom was clean ( I like that in a restaurant ) . We Will be back and I suggest anyone who is in East Greenwich to enjoy this place as we have. Thank you.

2nd visit over the weekend did not disappoint. The duck was out of this world. Tamarind marguerita was delicious!
(5)Asp R.
Chicken tikka masala is definitely a must- order. For some reason the lamb meat(in the curry) leaves a strange after- taste however the curry sauce made up for it. The only complaint is that our glasses were only refilled after we reminded the server, who is busy doing a zillion other things including being the a bartender. Being the only Indian restaurant in town, I am a fan!
(4)Grace M.
I've been here a dozen times and always experience excellent food & pleasant service. Nothing on the menu is particularly spicy as prepared but servers will gladly accommodate requests for more kick in the dishes.
(4)Dani K.
Rasa is a delight! No longer do I need to drive more than 15 minutes for delicious indian. Lovely ambiance, flavorful, fresh food, great service... all your standard Indian favorites and lovely new dishes will keep me going back with family and friends. Oh, and did I mention the cocktails? Their signature offerings are unusual and vibrant This is a lovely addition to Main St. EG. :)
(5)Jennifer T.
My kids and I dined here last weekend and we all enjoyed it immensely. Our favorites were the lamb chops, lamb curry and roasted eggplant. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive.
(4)Linda D.
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Food is amazing, authentic, fresh and creative. I cannot think of anything negative to say. The manager, and the restaurant was busy, took the time to personally stop by to answer questions I had about the preparation of some of the menu items. Delicious food and wonderful service.
(5)Victoria K.
Rasa is owned by the same fabulous people as Kabob and Curry and Rasoi, my two other Indian food favorites in RI. Because of this, you know the food quality will be the same, and the preparation of certain favorite dishes will generally match. This is a relief, since dishes can really vary sometimes from restaurant to restaurant. I must say, the decor at Rasa easily beats that of its older sisters. Blue is the color of choice here, and it is featured on several walls, in the lighting, and more. There is a beautiful bar stretched across one end of the restaurant, gorgeous lighting fixtures, painted accents on the blue walls, comfortable dark blue tufted cushions on the booth seating, etc. In addition to the great ambiance, service is the same caliber that one expects at the other two restaurants. The staff is friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I stopped by during my lunch break and met up with my mom and sister for lunch. The staff made sure our food orders were all entered quickly so there wasn't a major lag time between our starter and our entrees. We finished the meal with plenty of time to spare. And of course I must take a moment to talk about the food. Definitely order the Cauliflower 65 (sometimes called Gobi 65, Cauliflower Manchurian, or Gobi Manchurian in other establishments). I've had this dish previously in NYC, and also at Rasoi, where it's a huge favorite. It's comprised of crispy, fried cauliflower florets tossed and spicy/sweet sauce that is just absolute Heaven in your mouth. Just order it! I also love the Chicken Tikka Masala. I didn't specify my preference for spice when ordering (I usually say medium spicy), and I personally found it a bit milder than what I'm used to. Although my sister orders her's hot and also didn't specify and she said it was perfect for her, so maybe I've just burnt out my tastebuds and am less sensitive to spice these days :) Who knows! In any case, it's an excellent preparation of this dish. Since I'm working nearby now, I definitely plan to visit Rasa quite regularly during my lunch hour. I can't wait! Oh, and if you're a Yelper, check in to get a coupon ;-)

How much do I love having an amazing Indian restaurant down in East Greenwich?? Lots and lots. This restaurant is affiliated with my absolute favorite Indian place, Rasoi, located in Pawtucket. Considering how much time I spend in the EG neighborhood, it's a delight to have this alternative. What do I recommend? Cauliflower 69, chicken tikka, rice crepes (so much food and so good), curry, tikka masala, all the vegetarian dishes. Did I mention the drinks? One night they served a special cardamom martini. It was delicious! This is a perfect complement to the wonderful restaurants in EG. I am so glad they've added it to Main Street. A suggestion when dining in. Service is a bit more pedestrian. Service tends to be very good, but don't expect to eat quickly. :)
(4)Mary M.
How does this place keep getting better? Amazing food, service, and vibe! Had the Hyderabadi chicken,, saag paneer and topped it off with kulfi for dessert. Outstanding across the board.
(5)Leah D.
I love Rasa! My friend and have adopted it as our regular lunch get together spot and it never disappoints! Such reasonable prices for fantastic food! You have to try the coconut date nan - a favorite.
(5)Jose D.
Rasa is a great little restaurant on Main Street with a good variety of food. We really enjoyed our time here and would like to return. For a starter, we got the Honey and Ginger Naan ($3.50, pictured) which was very good. For dinner, I ordered the Lamb and Spinach ($17.50, pictured) which was described as having cubed lamb, onion, tomato, cumin, and garlic. It was less solid than I expected in my head, but it was very delicious and I was glad I ordered it. There are only so many times you can order something similar to Chicken Tikka Masala ($15.99). I would rate this food similar to India (Hope Street, Providence), but the drink menu doesn't have the same depth. I wasn't really happy with the price for strength ratio of the cocktails we ordered. But the prices for the food seemed reasonable for the area otherwise. In conclusion, I enjoyed Rasa, and would consider returning, but there are many other restaurants on Main Street to try first!

Our family visited Rasa 3 times the first week they were open. We haven't quite kept up that pace since, but we are regulars. A year ago Rasa hosted our wedding dinner with a dozen family members spanning three generations. My wife and I had a Rasa dinner again last night. We began, as we usually do, with a Nirvana cocktail for her and a neat Laphroaig Scotch for me. The Nirvana is one of Rasa's own creations and a favorite of several members of the family. Laphroaig is a lovely single malt Scotch from Islay not present nearly often enough on suburban bar shelves. Our dinners were lamb chunks in a tomato and beet sauce with more Indian spices than I can remember served with rice with slivered almonds and more Indian flavors. We traded samples. The lamb was fork tender. The beets were pureed into the sauce and gave a flavor I would not have recognized as beet. In fact with the spices and herbs the sauce presented subtle flavors that both puzzled and delighted the palate. I chose the vegetarian Korma. It included mushrooms, carrots, green beans, green peppers in a mouth-watering herby cream sauce.. It was advertised as including artichoke but the artichoke apparently stayed home. At least I didn't recognize any artichoke pieces or flavor. It came with white rice. I was more than satisfied. The check, with three drinks came to about $65. We have on other occasions enjoyed most of the things on Rasa's menu. Our teenage grandchildren love the samosas, the mango lassi, and several of the naans. If you like heat, try the biryani. It's a classic dish of rice, meat (I've tried the lamb), and pieces of onion and carrot as I recall. It reminded me of the plov we've enjoyed in Uzbekistan. The Rasa version is much more peppery than I can handle, though the flavors under the heat are tempting. I'll probably try it again. We've always had excellent service at Rasa. That goes for servers, bartenders, bus persons, hostesses and anybody else we've met. The manager, Santosh, is a delightful man, full of good spirit and conversation about Indian food, culture, and Scotch. Stop in and tell him Mr. George sent you.
(5)Stacy D.
If you've been to Kabob & Curry in Providence, you should know that this is the same owner. I've only been to Rasa once but the visit was incredible. Food, ambiance, and service were all amazing. Both my boyfriend and I got curry dishes, with rosemary naan bread and a bottle of wine. Every part of our meal was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back! Reservations can be made online.

I wish I could give this place all the stars in the sky, they are that good. Even though I've been eating Indian food most of my life, I'm still a little "dumb" when reading the menu and can almost never remember what I like and dislike. Everyone there is very helpful with answering questions and helping with the menu. Going there at lunch is GREAT. Brought my brother there this Saturday at lunch and smaller lunch portions = half the price....which meant I also ordered 4 apps and the bill was still less than $40 for two people and we were both stuffed! Earlier this year, I was feeling a bit bold and asked for a dish "extra hot" and I got exactly what I asked for...and also couldn't eat it because my taste buds are total wimps sometimes and can't hang. They re-made my meal and it was so fast that I wasn't lagging much behind the people I was with. Rasa, Rasoi, Kabob and Curry are just perfect places!
(5)Logan R.
Dinner prices are inexplicably 2x the lunch prices so go figure that one out. The food was not worth the dinner price but probably worth the lunch price. I'd give it 4 stars for lunch and 3 stars for dinner. The naan was good, as were the curries. The coconut naan was pretty unique and interesting but nothing about the other dishes I had stand out in my mind. I had the Chicken Hyderabadi Korma. Lamb Korma is my favorite Indian dish but this wasn't an option, here. To me, the Korma taste... flat? It just didn't have as much flavor as I expect Korma to have. Also, the fact that they don't have lamb korma raises another point: the menu is small. In Austin, where I live, many Indian places offer a variety of proteins and a variety of curries and allow you to mix and match as you please. At Rasa, there are about 10 curries and each one is a set meat/curry pairing. And, while I may have had the option had I asked the waiter, there was no apparent choice for how spicy you want your dish. Moreover, the default seemed to be "mild." Where is my curry freedom? I'm sorry, I thought this was America. If I lived near this place, I'd probably drop in for lunch on occasion but the dinner prices are unjustified. I've had better Indian for less money. There wasn't anything bad about my food, just a dozen ways it could have been a lot better. Rasa is neither memorably good, nor memorably bad. Three stars.

I welcome the EG sister of Rasoi (aka my fave restaurant of all time) and Kabob and Curry (my last choice for Indian food in the area - it's the Thayer Street parking). Having only had take out, I can not give an accurate rating, but will be sure to update this when I have soaked in the full Rasa experience. The interior is classy and slick. Despite the longer than told wait, nearly 35 minutes, the service was friendly and polite. Oh, and they too have cauliflower 65, so there's that. I shall return.
(4)Patrick D.
Absolutely delicious! Wow! Visiting my in-laws and hope to be back and eat this delicious food once again.
(5)Scott O.
Let me start by saying WOW! I would give more stars if possible! My only complaint is that the kitchen takes a while to cook your food, but trust me it's worth the wait. I got Tandoori chicken and the most amazing coconut naan. The place is trendy and but casual feeling. The staff is very personal and treated me like family. Definitely coming back here.
(5)Colleen M.
I have been looking forward to trying Rasa for awhile. I had made a reservation last month that I had to cancel so I was happy to finally dine at Rasa. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly host and (I'm assuming) the manager. The manager remembered that we'd made the reservation "awhile ago, maybe a week" ago, online. After we were shown to our table he moved some chairs to ensure that we were comfortable. We had a bit of a wait before our waiter came to the table but then everything flowed very quickly. After reading the reviews we had to start with the Cauliflower 65. We also tried the Artichoke and Veg Uttapam, The cauliflower was my favorite and definitely lived up to the hype. I almost couldn't believe it was cauliflower it was so substantial but it had that flavor I love that comes from roasted cauliflower. The veggie pancake was not what I was expecting but it was very good. For our main dishes we chose the Lamb and Spinach and the Tamarind Salmon and both were excellent. We did not try dessert since we had doubled up on appetizers. I truly enjoyed the experience and it's reminded me how much I love Indian food. The service were exceptional and I can't wait to return and try some other dishes on the menu.
(4)Nathan A.
First words: Cauliflower 65. Second words: you should order the aforementioned first words. This place is really good! The food is great. Great variety of Indian food. Great spot for vegetarians and vegans. They also have numerous dishes that are GF. Some highlights beside Cauliflower 65 (which you should order right now) are: vegetable mango, crispy okra, chana masala, and, oh, cauliflower 65. The staff is incredibly hospitable. The manager often visits each table, greets you, and always makes you feel welcome. The entire staff is wonderful. So, the moral of this review: get the cauliflower 65 for goodness sake. You'll be happy you did.
(4)Jen T.
My boyfriend and I each got one of the salads with the Chicken tikka and it was absolutely delicious! Perfect summer meal!
(5)Laura A.
Authentic Indian food, check. Excellent service, check. But then we got the check and took a double take. We ordered the lunch special and two lassis, and the bill was $37. It could have been user error - we must have misread the menu, but we were a little taken aback by the bill. That said, our waitress was phenomenal, very accommodating with our small child, and I can't complain about our food. Our wallet was emptied, but our bellies were full.
(3)Jay A.
Excellent food and service! Indian food is always my go-to cuisine when I'm traveling - and I've had lots of it. Rasa is at the top of my list for Indian dining in the area. Last night, I sat at the bar, and was treated to helpful and friendly service all night. I asked Janaka - the bartender and server - for recommendations; starting with a cocktail (Tamarind Margarita - delish!) entree (Roasted Eggplant, much like a Baingan Bharta. Outstanding, and and highly recommended from ME!) He suggested the garlic nan over the regular nan, and I am so glad that I got it. You should, too. Finally, I wound up with a simple but lovely kheer (rice pudding) for desert. During the course of the evening, I wound up in a lively conversation with the staff and manager (Santosh) about Indian and Nepali food, culture, music, and spirituality. Turns out that we were all fans of the great Indian TV show "Devon ke Dev Mahadev". See if you can find it with subtitles. MA-HA -DEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeev!!! Om Namah Shivaya!! ...but I digress. For great food in a lovely room, surrounded by friendly folks, you truly can't beat Rasa. Highly recommended.
(5)Michael L.
Great food, great environment! Very impressed with what the owner has done with the place you won't be disappointed!
(5)Peter B.
A sublime culinary experience! Rasa, located on Main St in East Greenwich, RI will delight you from the moment you enter the door. The cool blue soothing tones of the decor are pleasing to the eyes. The focal point of the room is the bar with a mirrored back wall, granite counter and cheery wood bar seats with white leather seat covers. Start your dining experience off with Rasa's signature Rasangria, a great blend of red or white wine and several fruit juices. The menu is approachable without being burdened with excessive choices, an unfortunate hallmark of many other Indian restaurants. The naan bread arrived hot and crisp. We ordered the garlic and cilantro version which turned out to be quite delicious. The vegetable samosas reminded my wife of what her Auntie Epy cooks during family gatherings. For my entree, I selected the lamb curry with basmati rice. The lamb was slowed cooked and tender with a sharp and flavorful curry sauce. My wife opted for the green curry and was not disappointed. She barely spoke during the main course, choosing to focus on the pleasure of her epicurean experience. We finished the evening by selecting the kulfi dessert. In a word, this dish was sublime. Rasa is now on our short list of preferred restaurants in the greater Providence area!!

AMAZing! 1st time for me at an Indian restaurant and I was veryyyy impressed. My daughter and I went for lunch. The waitress was very helpful with the menu selections. We started with the crispy wafer bread and 2 dipping sauces that is brought to the table. (It's lighter and crispier than pita.) She recommended the cauliflower 65 appetizer (flavor reminded me of General Taos chicken- sweet & spicey). Delicious. I ordered the chicken curry w/coconut and mushrooms (flavor reminded me of Cheesecake factory Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp) and my daughter had the chicken Tikki Masala (spicier than my dish) We also tried the Honey & Ginger Nan. It was served warm, drizzled with honey. The food was excellent quality. They offer a luncheon menu and dishes are about $8 each. A HUGE bargain. Upon leaving I called my sister who lives in the area to tell her about it. We will definitely be back! I highly recommend Rasa. Atmosphere 5 Waitstaff 5 Food 5
(5)Chris S.
My wife and I love this place. This is the place we take friends and family out to eat for a great lunch. The service has been impeccable every time we've been. The food has always been top notch with plenty of vegetarian dishes as well as loss of interesting meat choices. The cauliflower appetizer is so good, we get it every time. The naan with coconut and date is just amazing and I'm sure we will be getting that with every meal now too. The lamb, chicken, fish and all the veg dishes we've had have been really good. I know, I'm gushing, but it's true. Yes, they are extremely child friendly. Last time we went with our good friends and their 15 month old boy. The manager kept bringing the kiddo chips and even took him for a tour of the place. Above and beyond the call of duty for sure. As I mentioned before, we come here for lunch, perfect portions and good prices. We always leave happy, full and with some money left over. This is not your normal Rhode Island restaurant.
(5)Lanie H.
Rasa never disappoints. I've been eating Indian food since it came to CT when I was in hig school. That was over 25 years ago. Over the years I always try to eat Indian food when traveling so that ive tried several restaurants all over the country & abroad. Rasa is one of my favorites! The staff is welcoming & knowledgeable as well. Thank you for finally bringing an Indian restaurant to East Greenwich that will stay!!! (There have been 3 since I've lived here). We love you Rasa!
(5)Richard P.
This place is awesome! The cauliflower 65 is mega delicious as is most everything there. Fantastic food, atmosphere (love the blue lighting) and service. The host makes you feel like you are in his home. Eat here, you will thank me!
(5)Shannon W.
What a fabulous spot this is - the service is excellent, and the food is consistent. I have no fear of branching out to try new things because everything I've had is delicious. Chicken Korma, Spinach croquettes, and the dish that I've sent people there for specifically...the cauliflower. There may be something like it in Rhode Island, but I've certainly never had it- what an amazing dish. You will not be disappointed with Rasa- so glad to have a spot like this in town. I'll be back again and again. Keep up the good work!
(5)Amanda S.
As a preface: I am from Rhode Island (and previously had no experience with indian food) and my boyfriend is indian. I have had lots of indian food (homemade and authentic restaurants) and although not an expert, have had much more than most. Rasa is more Americanized than most places (menu is in English and not very spicy) but for the clientele is perfect. The service is great, the atmosphere is cool and upscale, and the prices are VERY reasonable for Indian food. Everything I have gotten there is amazing. I love rasa and have brought my whole family (not very open to trying ethnic foods) and they all loved it. For those looking to try new cuisines or lovers of Indian food, rasa is amazing and I try to go as often as I can! Plus, the drinks are great! Indian with a cool and hip flare!
(5)Brendan C.
I Love Rasa. Great food, friendly staff. Always enjoy coming here. Have never been disappointed.
(4)Marie S.
This place has amazing food, but be warned that the service is a little off. First, let's start with the food: Absolutely fantastic. This is about as authentic as it gets. The Korma and Naan were both to die for, with the prices being very reasonable. Drawbacks: If you are a female, don't expect great service. My significant other and I went on a date to Rasa and I was not looked or approached even once. They only made eye contact with the male at the table and only refilled his glass. It was actually a very bizarre cultural experience -- it even made my boyfriend uncomfortable. Perhaps if we had a different waiter, things would have been different. We will definitely go back and give it another shot because the food was so great, but we'll be hoping for better (and more equitable!) service.
(4)Ryan B.
Good food, friendly staff, will definitely be back again. I ordered the Saffron Chicken Kabob, which was fantastic!
(4)YelpIsAnnoying P.
The food is consistent: it's good, it's hot, and the dishes are the same every time you order them. The portions are appropriate, maybe even generous. The price here is a little steep, but for such good food, it's worth it. I've only done take out so I can't speak to the interior of the restaurant, but the food alone is worth 5 stars.
(5)Brittany B.
Where can I start? The wait staff is amazing and the host/manager is incredibly nice and greets each guest personally. The wait time to be seated was minimal. The food is AH-MAZING; I highly recommend their chicken tikka masala! Once we finished eating and were ready for the check, the host/manager came back over to our table to personally ask us how everything was and to thank us for coming, and that he looks forward to seeing us again. I had to take away one star because the service was very slow and they seemed very under-staffed for a dinner service -- we only saw three waiters total, and they were also running the bar. Also, and most importantly, the decor was confusing. You walk in and there's immediately a hospital-type curtain. Beyond the hospital curtain, you can see a blue glass sheet hanging from the silver-plated embossed ceiling with neon blue detail lights and a modern chandelier. The bar has a post-modern vibe, while the wall decor is trying to be both modern and traditional Indian. It's a weird, confusing clash of designs that really don't go together and can be very distracting. We will totally be coming back because the food is excellent and prices are decent. Maybe the bizarre decor will grow on us.
